When FND starts, it can have a big impact on our lives and how we feel. Figuring out and dealing with these feelings, particularly when verbalisation isn't always possible, can be tricky! This course provides strategies, tips, and tools to help you take the first steps.

You'll explore simple tools to understand how your body feels and potential ways to express and communicate emotions. This journey includes grounding techniques for emotional overwhelm, mindful practices for balance, and explores creative outlets for expression. Discover ways to reconnect to moments of gratitude, joy and wonder, fostering a holistic approach to your emotional wellbeing.

This course can enhance your coping skills, develop tools for expression and resilience, gaining a sense of agency in actively managing your emotional wellbeing. Take a look at what's included and covered below.

Course Structure

Module 1 - Understanding Emotions with the Brain & Body

- Overview of FND and its impact on emotions

- Understanding emotions and their importance in mental health

- Common challenges faced by individuals with FND in processing emotions

- How emotions manifest physically.

​Gain a deeper understanding of how your emotions manifest in your body and the intricate relationship between emotions and FND. Gain insights into how to begin to untangle emotional processing with FND and start to navigate these challenges, fostering greater emotional wellbeing.

Module 2 - Grounding for Emotional Overwhelm

 Understanding emotional overwhelm and its impact

- An Introduction to grounding techniques: what they are and how they work.

- Understanding resilience and its importance in coping with FND

- Identifying personal strengths and resources for resilience

Learn practical grounding methods to help reconnect and avoid dissociation. Explore and begin to harness your own personal strengths to cultivate resilience and give you a sense of agency to start navigating the emotional challenges of FND with more confidence and stability.

Module 3 - Mindfulness for Emotional Balance

An overview of mindfulness and its relevance to emotional wellbeing

- Integrating mindfulness into daily routines

- Exploring self-compassion and its role in emotional healing

Five Modules to Discover

Participating in the "Voices of Emotions" course offers a transformative journey towards emotional empowerment and wellbeing.

 

With guidance and practical tools, you'll start to gently reconnect with your body, feelings and emotions to gain a deeper understanding, develop some coping strategies, and foster resilience in navigating life's challenges with FND.

 

Join us to unlock your inner voice, cultivate self-compassion, and embark on a path towards greater emotional resilience and fulfilment.

A Toolkit of Resources

Each week, you will find strategies, tips, and tools for you to explore and tailor specifically to your personal needs and requirements.

This course is packed with information and practical resources to enable you to explore gently and with compassion what you are experiencing with FND. 

​

The resources help you to manage dissociation, reconnect with you body, and create a personalised toolkit  as a foundation for you to begin to process emotional overwhelm and nurture your emotional wellbeing. 

Different Formats

Each module contains a workbook for you to take aways and work through at your own pace . It accompanies you on your journey of finding the right emotional wellbeing practices that work for you.

 

The printed materials are in pastel colours for visual sensitivity as well as black and white to keep costs down for those who wish to print.

 

There are audio and video resources to help with different types of learning, symptom management and sensitivities.

Where particular needs are identified in advance, the formats will be tailored wherever possible.

Community Support

FND is so commonly misunderstood and often our experiences that accompany this lead to us not feeling able to express or convey our feelings, being shamed or dismissed.

​

FND Wellbeing endeavours to provide an platform of understanding and a safe environment for discussion and exploration within small group work. This enables the content and support to be tailored towards the needs and requirements of participants.

​

Attendees of the course have lived experience and have been impacted by FND providing a forum for understanding and support.

Kerryn has created an extremely interesting and useful course here.  I was particularly intrigued by the prospect of this course as emotional overwhelm and regulation are particularly challenging for me.
 
I have been introduced to some excellent tools to support me and now have some grounding strategies to support the Mindfulness that I've been undertaking. There are lots of ideas for creativity to support with emotional challenges when they come along. I know that this will be an ongoing issue for me to address but I now have some 'hands on' strategies to utilise.
