What To Expect

A Variety Of Wellbeing Practices

All retreat sessions are pre-recorded, designed to fit around your energy levels and needs - and ours too! Over the three days, a variety of wellbeing recordings will be released, offering practical tools, calming practices, and inspiring insights.

Be inspired by a diverse group of wellbeing guests, many with lived experience of FND and/or chronic illness. Their knowledge, energy, and support shine through in sessions including movement, mindfulness, breathwork, diet, creativity and more!

Held just after the holidays, this retreat recognises the unique challenges of FND and chronic health conditions. Take this time to recharge, refocus, be curious and help yourself to regulate your nervous system in a supportive, understanding space.

All recordings will remain available until Sunday, 26 January 2025, so you can revisit sessions or catch up on anything you miss during the retreat weekend. You can relax, dip in and out, replay and enjoy the event at a pace that's right for you!

Your Wellbeing Guests!

The host and most of the guests live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and/or chronic health conditions. This shared lived experience brings a unique understanding and empathy to the retreat.

 

While our symptoms, conditions, circumstances, and challenges may differ, the retreat guests offer a range of different wellbeing practices to inspire and support you in nurturing your own self-care and wellbeing.

We recognise the diversity of FND and the uniqueness of your experience. While we can’t tailor every session to all needs, the variety of topics ensures that you’ll find valuable insights and practical tools to support your journey.

Kerryn Withers Green - Host 

Kerryn, trained in hypnotherapy, mindfulness, life coaching, and nervous system regulation, brings over 25 years of HR experience to her work. Diagnosed with FND in 2017, she has since made a

successful recovery and supported hundreds of people with FND online and in-person.  Her journey inspired the creation of FND Wellbeing, where she combines her knowledge and expertise with lived experience to provide accessible resources and practical tools. Kerryn is passionate about empowering others in the FND community to manage their symptoms and navigate their path toward recovery.

Dr. Stephanie-Roxanne Blanco - Guest

Steph is a neuropsychologist, researcher, academic, and someone who truly understands the ups and downs of living with chronic illness. Her passion lies in making science practical and empowering,

especially for the FND community. 

Steph's PHD explored how inflammation impacts the brain, body, and mind in FND, and she has dedicated her career to uncovering how this knowledge can help people thrive.  Steph dives into the fascinating role of inflammation in FND and explores practical, science-backed strategies to help you feel more in control of your wellbeing.

Fi Gordon - Guest

Fi Gordon is a hypnotherapist, EFT and NLP practitioner, who has been changing lives with her potent therapy style since 2013. In 2009 she was diagnosed with M.E/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

and written off by the medical community. After years of chronic ill health, Fi discovered a unique blend of subconscious techniques and energy medicine that cracked the code for her recovery back to vibrant full health. She is passionate about using these powerful tools to help others let go of anxiety and tension, relax deeply into being who they truly are and find energy and excitement for life that aligns.

Joanna Waddell - Guest

Joanna is a counsellor, EFT Practitioner, Breathwork and Meditation Teacher and has a deep love of nature. As a result of her own Burnout and diagnosis of ME/CFS she is passionate about

supporting people to live more gently for themselves, their communities and the Earth.

  

Joanna holds space for people in her local and Zoom communities even when they feel exhausted, emotional or vulnerable. She does gentle practices designed to check in with ourselves and honour what’s present for us, feel a sense of belonging to the Earth and rest deeply.

Tess Wisbey - Guest

Sports & Soft Tissue Massage Therapist for Rugby teams and 1:1 clients, Tess is also a former ultra marathon runner as well! Tess is passionate about people being able to love activity - without the pain!

Tess is using her knowledge and experience of neurological conditions, body movement and exercise to support others, enabling them to engage and return to activities and movement that they enjoy. Her focus is on recuperation and helping people to find their "Wiz".

Steven Webster - Guest

Steve Webster has worked in the charity sector for over 35 years, but challenged with his own personal ill health, he became aware that people diagnosed with FND, were without any kind of support.

Based on his own health experiences and in conjunction with a local hospital, Steve started offering support to those diagnosed with FND or related conditions, and that was the foundation for the national registered charity, FND Dimensions. As the Founder & CEO, Steve has worked for nearly 12 years in this sector, and in that time has seen the charity grow with the support of volunteers and the board of trustees.

Julia Cox - Guest

Julia Cox is a disabled Pilates teacher, health coach in training, professional choreographer for dancers with disabilities. Health and wellness and the arts have been Julia’s main focus in her life.

Julia has various chronic illnesses which have inspired her to devote any energy she has to helping others with chronic illness and others striving to make healthy changes in their lives. She is focused on self-care, healthy eating, gentle movement, sleep, and mindfulness practices. You can find Julia on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook as “Ginkgo Tree Health.”

Imelda McQuaid - Guest

Imelda is a nature lover, mindful self-compassion teacher and outdoor enthusiast. She is passionate about creating opportunities for people to nurture​ their experience, knowledge and skills, to improve

emotional and mental wellbeing. For almost 2 decades Imelda has worked in the homeless sector, supporting young people and adults who have experienced complex trauma and childhood adversity. In recent years Imelda discovered the deep peace and calm that can be enjoyed through connecting with nature, and practicing mindfulness under the tree canopy, and is keen to share it with you through Mindful By Nature.

Tina Hollis - Guest

Tina is a former successful weight loss coach, renowned for helping others achieve lasting success. After shedding over six stone herself, she discovered that true transformation requires more

than just focusing on food - it’s about understanding your relationship with it. Guided by her mantra, “If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got,” Tina empowers others to think differently about their choices. She champions 3 keys to success: identifying your “why,” overcoming challenges, and building self-awareness. How we feel is what we eat, so let’s make a difference to you.

Marie-Anne Catterall - Guest

Maz was diagnosed with Orofacial/Oromandibular Dystonia and FND in June 2022, giving her a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the FND community. She is currently studying Mindfulness-

Based Hypnotherapy, as mindfulness and hypnotherapy really helped her after diagnosis, alongside her beautiful dogs too.

Maz is also pursuing a Pet Bereavement Counselling Diploma, as her love for animals has been a cornerstone of her coping strategy. Through her studies, Maz aims to support herself and, ultimately, others within the FND community. Watch this space for 2025!

Becks Smit- Guest

Becks founded Chronic Creator (formerly Cute Lil Stitches) in late 2022 as a way to manage her mental health, de-stress, and find calm. Crafting became her focus, helping to steady her tremors

and tics while also providing a welcome distraction from pain.

Now, Becks uses her creative skills to support the disabled community by designing items that offer practical benefits for others like herself. Her creations include crutch and walking stick pouches, stick snoods, cup cosies with handles, and disability bears. You can follow Becks and her inspiring work on Instagram: @chronic.creator.

Deidré Christenson-Main - Guest

Founder of Freedom Coaching, Deidré is a Wellness, Health and Life Coach specialising in Chronic Pain. She divides her time between the Scottish Highlands and Northern Michigan, she

holds degrees in Theatre and Education, plus  certificates in Health and Life Coaching. After endometriosis, surgeries, early menopause, a workplace assault, and an FND diagnosis disrupted her wellbeing, Deidré retrained as a coach. She combines her expertise in coaching, pain management and lived experiences to empower others to transform as she did: moving from surviving to thriving, despite the pain.
